First mortar pump PM 1

In 1958, the PM 1, Karl Schlecht’s first mortar pump, established the company’s success. Users still benefit from this innovation today

Portfolio expansion with concrete pumps

Putzmeister expands its portfolio with concrete pumps in 1968. The company quickly secured a large market share – and is now one of the world’s leading manufacturers.

Putzmeister’s mortar machines quickly became a bestseller

In 1972, almost 15 years after the company was founded, the 20,000th plastering machine left the factory in Aichtal. Space gradually became tight, which is why a new, large production hall was soon built in Aich.

Introduction of industrial and special pumps

In 1977, Putzmeister transferred its technical expertise to additional materials and applications. Since then, the industrial and special pumps have been used in demanding projects worldwide.

The future of the company is secure

In 1998, founder Karl Schlecht retires from the operative business and transfers all shares in Putzmeister AG to two foundations. The future of the company is secured. It copes with setbacks and enjoys the highest reputation worldwide to this day.

We are a family-run company in the shell of a corporate group. We are international and regional at the same time – because we are expanding worldwide and yet we know that our origins and production are at our headquarters in Aichtal near Stuttgart.
